Raised pillar design, this is the “Star” version of this model with pillars equidistantly arranged around the frame. Two medallions set into the front plate are engraved, the first with the maker and serial number “118”, and the second with the model. The backplate features the drag adjuster dial with twelve positions. Black handle. Smooth click and pawl design and the spool is palmable for extra control. The reel packs into a neoprene pouch and the box with original paperwork. A very nice package here salmon and steelhead anglers.

This is an unusual hand-polished and un-anodized version of Vlad’s Salar model and also boasts a classic “S” style handle. Brass foot. Raised pillar design, this is the “Star” version with four single pillars encircling the reel (in addition to the double pillars on the foot). Two medallions set into the front plate are engraved, the first with the maker and serial number “28”, and the second with the model. The backplate features the drag adjuster dial with twelve positions. Ivorine handle. Smooth click and pawl design and the spool is palmable for extra control. The reel weighs 12.9 ounces on my scale.
