For sale here is a Walt Carpenter Browntone 8’6″ 3/2 6wt bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent overall and original condition with no issues to report other than moderate use. All sections are arrow straight. Browntone cane with chestnut brown wraps and black tipping. Black, gold, and burgundy tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Blued hardware. Ring hook-keeper. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. “Ellis” corkgrip. Classic cap and ring reel seat with fine mortised wood spacer. The rod weighs 4 3/4 oz.. The oxidized ferrules are size 10/64 and 15/64, the fit is excellent. The rod features a very smooth medium fast dry fly action (on the medium side). No script appears on the rod but the tube has a sticker with Walt’s script noting it’s a Prototype Browntone. Includes original bag and tube with brass fittings.
