For sale here is a very collectible API Spring Creek fly reel designed and patented by Oscar Kovalovsky. The reel is in excellent plus condition with only a few marks. Made in the late 1980s by Angling Products Inc. in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. The reel is 3 5/8″ diameter and would be perfect for a 5-6 weight line and backing. Reel can be used either right or left hand wind. Weighs approx. 5 5/8 oz. This one is serial number 66 of 100. Black anodized finish. No tools are needed to remove the spool. This is one of the first large arbor reels with a click drag. The handle is inset from the edge to allow space to use a finger as additional drag. Since the handle is inset from the outer edge, it automatically gives it a multiplying effect of 1.4 to 1 when retrieving line.
