A very nice Bob Summers Model 275 fly rod, 7’6″, 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #6886. 3.0 ounces. Light use with a bit of grip soiling. Flamed cane with two opposed nodes. Very nice varnish. Brown wraps with a carbide stripper and chrome guides. Medium action. The grip is 5 3/4″ long and shaped to a medium cigar with a walnut wear lip and intro to the mortised cork seat. The reel is held in place by two black anodized aluminum rings. The end cap is varnished mahogany. The owner’s name is inscribed on the rod shaft. The rod packs into a cloth bag and a Cortland style brushed aluminum tube with brass hardware.

This rod comes from the collection of Dr. Earl Fleegler, a passionate angler and well-known collector in the fly fishing community as well as a renowned hand surgeon. Dr. Fleegler was close friends with a number of angling luminaries including Tom Maxwell, Vince Marinaro, and Stan Bogdan (among others) and devoted considerable effort to collecting some of the finest tackle available from masters of the craft.
