For sale here is a Bob Summers Deluxe Model 856 — 8′ 2/2 5-6wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 3498. This particular rod was built as a memorial to George Griffith, founderof Trout Unlimited. The rod is in near mint original condition. All sections are full length and straight.

The rod features handsome darkly flamed cane with exquisitely wrapped transparent, caramel brown silks with black tipping. Garrison-style hook keeper. The script remains clean and bold. Along with the rod information, the script also reads,

“George Griffith” Memorial Rod

Western-style grip 6 1/2″ in length with only minimal handling marks. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat over a mortised Walnut spacer. The nickel silver ferrules are size 15/64 with an excellent fit. Includes original aluminum ferrule plug tethered to the bag. The rod weighs 4.80 oz. The action is medium-fast. Includes original bag and tube.
