A nice Stan Bogdan 300 Abercrombie and Fitch model salmon reel, set up for desirable LHW. 3 3/4″ diameter with 1 1/2″ spool width. Weighs 13.7 ounces. Excellent lightly used condition with light rash on the rims in one area, a small scratch on the poacher’s knob, and just a touch of brassing to the drag adjuster. Very clean overall however, it has been well cared for. I suspect this reel was refurbished by Stan at some point, perhaps with a replacement foot as there is no stamp there as was typical of the A&F models. The brake pads are also delrin instead of the micarta that was typical of these early reels, a sensible upgrade if the reel had found its way back into Stan’s hands. Gold anodized spool, frame, and side plates. Black anodized foot, crank, counterbalance, drag selector, and oil cap. This reel has large take-apart screws and the revered bogdan drag design. 2:1 multiplier retrieve. No bag. A very nice opportunity for someone to pick up a large LHW Bogdan to pair with a larger spey rod.
