A nice Chris Raine bamboo fly rod, 8’3″, 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #401. Hollow built construction and the rod weighs 4.3 ounces on my scale (the listed weight is stated as 3 3/4 ounces). Lightly used. Medium action. Light oven tempered cane done in a two opposed pattern. Light brown main wraps with black edges. Agate stripper with dark snake guides. Very good varnish. The ferrules are highly truncated swiss-style with some oxidation loss to the female. The grip is 6 1/4″ long and styled to a full wells with a hidden pocket cap. The reel seat is a mortised uplocking slide band over a stabilized redwood burl. The grip has some light hand soiling. The rod packs into a light brown colored bag and an aluminum tube with brass fittings and the Raine data sticker affixed to it.
