All sections are full length and straight. The varnish is flawless. Darker strawcolored cane with jet blackwraps and fine pale gold tipping. Blued guides and ferrules. Lovely, clear agatestripping guide. Nickel silver checks with a fine knurling. Dickerson style reverse half wells grip with only slight soiling. The Paulo Barbetti engravings on the up-locking nickel silver reel seat hardware is exquisite. Beautiful, richly figured, Circassian walnutspacer. The Swiss-style ferrules are size 14/64, the fit is perfect. The female ferrules are engraved “Whitehead” and feature the fine knurling seen on the checks. With the rod comes a very fine nickel silver ferrule plug topped with cape horn buffalo.
