A nice Hardy St. John fly reel, 3 7/8″ diameter and set up for RHW. An earlier three screw model with internal badging for “James Neill and Sons, Ltd / Fredericton, NB” which I have seldom seen. The internals also bear the initials “TAG” (Thomas Armstrong – 19281978 ) which is stamped into the inside of the frame. Good used condition with normal cosmetic wear throughout and some residue at the very interior part of the spool (to my eye it looks more like residue than corrosion). Duplicated Mark II style check. Ribbed brass foot that has been dressed on both ends. Nice loud click. There is some minor play to the spool. Brown handle. The tension adjuster works as it should. No bag.
