For sale here is a Phillipson Eponite7’6″ 5-6wt 2 pc. fiberglass fly rod. The rod is in excellent originalcondition. This is a Bill Phillipson rod made before the 3M era. The rod features a natural amber colored fiberglass blank with gold wraps. There is a spiral pattern as tipping for each wrap. A neat classiclook. All wraps are sound and void of any defects. Bright guides. The guides are rather small as the rod was designed when silk lines still occupied a major chunk of the fly line market. U-shaped hook-keeper. The label remains bold and free of any imperfections. Gold thread winding check similar to Garrison rods. The cigar grip is 6 1/4″ in length with only light soiling. Anodized pale gold, aluminum down-locking reel seat with a light brown anodized aluminum spacer/body. The reel seat shows a bit of wear, mostly on the butt cap. The bright nickel silver swiss style ferrules fit excellently. The rod weighs 3.95 oz. The action is a swift medium-fast dry-fly, a bit faster than some other glass rods. The rod includes the original bag and the original square, gold aluminum tube with ~90% of the label remaining. The tube is missing its cap.
