A Tom Morgan Rodsmiths bamboo fly rod, 7’6″, 2-piece, 2-tip and built for a #5 line. Serial #37 of 200. The rod weighs 3.9 ounces on my scale. Excellent lightly used condition. The grip has a moderate amount of hand soiling which at first glance would suggest that the rod has been well used, but the rest of the rod is in great shape with very few signs of wear. My suspicion is moderately used but very carefully. Crisp dry fly action, very pleasing. The ferrule fits are good and the rod is nice and straight. Light wheatstraw colored cane done in a three up node pattern construction. The varnish is well done and in good shape. Wrapped in dark maroon with gold tipping at the front cork check, signature wraps, ferrules and tip tops. Agate stripper with chrome snakes and tip tops. Swiss style ferrules that are polished bright, with cork and nickel silver ferrule plug. The grip is 6″ long and done in a heavily sculpted western profile. Bright front and rear cork checks. Polished cap and ring reel seat hardware over a mortised and stabilized wood burl spacer. The TMR medallion is inset into the bottom of the butt cap. The rod packs into a heavy padded purple rod bag and hexagonal tube with a black overbag.
