A nice VR Design “Brora” custom fly reel by Vladimir Rachenko from his shop in Ukraine. 4/0 size, approximately 4″ in diameter with a 1″ spool width. 15 ounces. LHW. The reel appears mint and unfished. Titanium frame with a titanium spool. Two medallions are inset in the plate on the cranking side, one with “VR Design, 01, Ukraine” and the second “Brora River Scotland, 4/0, In Memory of Megan Boyd”. Palming plate design with the integrated handle running through the exterior plate on that side, allowing the angler to apply pressure via the rim. The counterbalance on the handle features an engraving of a salmon and the handle appears to me to be delrin. On the other side the drag adjuster dial features 11 stops. The reel packs into a cream leather drawstring pouch.
