For sale here is an R.L. Winston “Retro” 7’6″ 3 piece 4 weight fiberglass fly rod. Serial no. 525. The rod is in unused condition. The rod features a brick colored sanded blank with crimson wraps and pale silver tipping at the winding check and signature wrap. Halfway between the grip and stripping guide there is a vintage Winston “loving cup” decal.Along with the usual information scripted on the rod, “Ouzel”, abird that thrives in mountain streams is alsowritten in silver. Bright guides. U-shaped hook-keeper. Knurled, nickel silver winding check. Reverse half-wells grip. Nickel silver down-locking reel seat with a cocobolospacer. There are some very slight handling markson the side of the wood spacer. The spigot ferrules fit together nice and tight as they should with a 1/4″ gap to allow for wear over time. The rod weighs 3.25 oz. The action is an incredibly smooth medium capable of precise, delicate casts. Perfect for spooky fish in small to medium sized streams. The rod includes original bag with “Retro” label. Original tube also included.
