For sale here is a Wright & McGill Granger SpecialModel 8040 — 8′ 3/2 for a 4 or 5weightline. The rod is in very good plus condition with a few cosmetic issues. The rod is mostly original with some minor repair work to some wraps as well as one having been re-wrapped. There is also a hairline crack in one of the tip ferrules that extends from the shoulder to the start of the male slide. Classic ammoniated cane with “Granger green” silks. The script is slightly faded but still legible. The initials “LCB” are stamped into the cane at the butt under the varnish. The grip is ridged. Patented uplocking nickel silver reel seat functions smoothly as it should. There is only one very small dent on the backside of the seat. The ferrules are size 15/64 and 10/64 and the fit is great. The rod weighs 41/2 oz. The action is classic medium fast. A terrific all-around trout rod. The rod includes its original bag and tube. There is a small hole at the bottom of the butt section sleeve of the bag. This could easily be mended.
